Restless Leg

For someone who has trouble keeping her eyes open during parts of the day, it makes no sense to me why nighttime sleep sometimes alludes my body. It is 2:45 a.m. and here I am on my computer. The culprit? Restless Leg Syndrome. Ever hear of it? Although I have experienced it a lot before, especially during pregnancies, I didn't know that this annoying trait had a name. Basically, it is a jittery, crawling sensation in one's legs, kind of like having an electric current running through them. There is an overwhelming sensation to move one's legs or get a massage (sometimes a tall order at two in the morning), hence the name. So here I am, reading up on another weird pregnancy symptom to see if any relief is possible. It appears that there may be a link between RLS and iron or folate deficiency, so I need to get those vitamins down each day! In the meantime, I think I'll shake a leg [har, har].

Oh my, I had that BAD with Caleb. They finally quit about 35 weeks. I hated it. It was hard to explain to people.
Sometimes I will wake up at night and think "oh no" it will start again, luckily it hasn't.
It is a weird sensation, you are thinking just stop doing it!
Hope it stops soon.

Yikes, sorry man. Don't think I've experienced quite that, but sometimes my muscles twitch for hours keeping me up. No fun!

Sorry to hear about that. We had a lady in our depression group that had that. She wore her sheets thin at the bottom of the bed from her legs at night.

Lori--didn't know you had that. You hid it well.

gee Ron, how soon you forget. I figured that there was nothing you could do. Why keep you up too.

I totally understand! After a particularly bumpy day in the car in Africa, I had restless legs the rest of our time there. Flying home with those legs wasn't exactly what I wanted to do but my legs and I made it.

God's blessings as you carry this child with style! Hang in there, my friend!

Of course, when I decide to submit this comment again, it decides to finally show them all. Sorry for the redundancy!
